What a small online shop really needs
Before choosing a tool, list what your shop needs on day one. For most independents the list is short:
- a home page that says what you sell and why it is good;
- a catalogue with photos, prices and honest descriptions;
- a cart and a payment method your customers already use: card, or TWINT in Switzerland;
- one place where every order arrives with the customer, the amount and its status;
- the legal notices an online shop must display.
Everything else (discount codes, loyalty schemes, ten shipping options) can wait for your first sales. A simple shop that is online beats a perfect shop still under construction.
How MyAiCompany builds your shop
When you create your company, you pick a starting point. Showcase: a presentation site with a contact form; the shop can be added later. Shop: the showcase plus a catalogue, a cart, orders and payments.
Then you describe what you want in your own words. The Studio writes the pages and publishes them at your address; the Town Hall keeps your customers, products, orders, invoices and support. Every action shows its price before it starts, and nothing runs without your approval.
| What you launch | Price |
|---|---|
| Publish a page (hosting included) | 60 maic |
| Publish the whole site | 180 maic |
| The Bank: card and TWINT payments | 1,000 maic, once — 5% on sales |
| A domain in your name | registry price + our margin, shown first |
The subscription costs CHF 20 a month (≈ US$24 · €21) and credits 2,000 maic every month (1 maic = one cent). Your name.myaicompany.io subdomain is included to prepare the shop; going live happens on your own domain, registered in your name.
Payments: card and TWINT, on your own account
Payments go through your own Stripe account, connected to the platform. You complete Stripe's identity check yourself, then your customers pay by card or TWINT: on a phone the TWINT app opens, on a computer a QR code appears to scan.
The money from your sales lands on your account: it never goes through MyAiCompany. The platform takes 5% of the amount collected, withheld by Stripe before payout, on top of Stripe's own fees. That money has nothing to do with your maic credits.
Selling face to face too, at a market or in a workshop? The Town Hall's Till shows a QR-bill or your own merchant TWINT QR code. See Swiss QR-bill invoicing.
Orders, in the same place as everything else
A paid order arrives in the Town Hall with its customer, amount and status. Your shop's customers join your customer list, and you can send them an invoice (8 maic) like any other customer. Questions arrive in Support.
The Library keeps what you upload: product sheets, terms of sale, photos. Next time your agents start from what they already know instead of asking you the same questions again.
What stays your job
Every publication goes through an automatic review: rejected content is not published, doubtful content is checked by a person. But you are responsible for what you sell, your prices and your terms.
MyAiCompany does not incorporate a company and handles no formality for you. An online shop's legal notices, VAT, business registration or trade licences remain your obligations. For a holder based in Switzerland, the Your obligations page summarises them; elsewhere, local rules are yours to follow.
And your shop stays yours: its code is in your repository, your data (customers, products, orders, invoices) exports in one click, and your domain leaves with you if you go. To see a real shop published by the platform, open the demo company.
