AI agents for freelancers, without the jargon

When you work alone or in a team of two, the problem is rarely a lack of ideas; it is a lack of hands. AI agents can take on part of the repetitive work: writing and publishing a page, finding customers, preparing a pitch, keeping the invoices. Here is what an agent is, what it really does, and what you should not hand over blindly.

An agent is not a chatbot

A chatbot answers a question: you ask for a text, it gives you a text, and it is up to you to copy it, format it and publish it. An agent carries a task through to the end: it gets an instruction, uses tools (a website, a directory, an outbox, a customer database) and hands you a result, then a report of what it did.

For a freelancer the difference is concrete. “Write me a home page” gives you a draft. “Publish a page presenting my classes, with a contact form” gives you a page online, at your address, with its form connected to your contacts.

What MyAiCompany's agents do

On MyAiCompany, your company looks like a city, and each campus groups specialised agents:

1 maic = one cent, and the CHF 20 monthly subscription credits 2,000 maic every month. The first moves are detailed in the first-steps guide.

Quote, approval, report: the rule that protects your budget

An agent that spends without asking is a risk, not a help. Every action therefore follows the same path: you fill in a three-field form, the quote in maic appears, and nothing starts until you tick the approval box and press “Start”.

The quote is a ceiling, not a fixed price: at the end only what was actually used is charged and the rest goes back to your balance. The report spells it out, for example “Actual cost: 15 maic (quote 90, 75 returned)”. A domain or a mailbox, on the other hand, has a firm price: the registry's or provider's price plus our margin, shown first.

The Bazaar: more agents, reviewed before they arrive

Beyond the built-in agents, developers publish agents your company can buy in the Bazaar. Each one goes through review, tests and a jury before it appears. An agent you buy puts its building on its campus: what you see in your city is exactly what you own.

Need something nobody covers? You put credits in a pool, other companies with the same need top it up, and the first vetted developer who accepts the price builds the agent. If the pool does not succeed, it is returned. The first funders keep the agent forever.

The limits, stated plainly

Agents can be wrong. They tell you so, and they never invent a result. Anything that commits your business, such as a quote, an invoice or an outreach e-mail, is reviewed before it goes out: nothing enters your Town Hall and no outreach e-mail is sent without your review.

Outgoing mail is capped at 500 e-mails per month per company, and monitored: spam gets sending suspended. Agents do not replace an accountant either: the platform handles no administrative formality for you (see Your obligations).

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between an AI agent and ChatGPT or another chatbot?

A chatbot gives you a text; an agent carries out the task with tools and gives you a result, for example a published page or a list of verified contacts, with a report.

Can an agent spend my money without asking?

No. The quote appears before every action and nothing starts without your explicit approval. Only the actual cost is charged; the rest of the quote goes back to your balance.

Do the agents send e-mails on my behalf?

Outreach e-mails are drafted, then reviewed by you before they go out. Invoices are e-mailed to your customer. Sending is capped at 500 e-mails per month.

How much do the agents cost?

The subscription is CHF 20 a month with 2,000 maic included. Every action shows its price: 60 maic for a page, 8 for an invoice, 40 maic plus 8 per minute for a pitch.

Can I add more agents?

You can buy them in the Bazaar, reviewed, tested and approved by a jury, or fund one with other companies through a pool, returned if it does not succeed.
