The real brake on a side project: time
Evening projects rarely die for lack of customers. They die because each small task pushes back the next one: the site is never finished, the list of prospects sits in a corner, the first customer's invoice goes out three weeks late. In the end, the evenings went into admin instead of the actual craft.
So the idea is to separate two things. What needs your judgement (what to sell, to whom, at what price, in which tone) stays with you. What is execution (writing and publishing a page, finding and checking contacts, drafting an e-mail, sending an invoice, filing it) can be handed to agents.
A typical week with MyAiCompany
On MyAiCompany, your company looks like a city. You click a campus, say what you want in a three-field form, the price shows, you approve. When you come back, the work is done and a report is waiting. For example:
- Monday evening, 10 minutes: you ask for a page presenting your workshops, with a contact form. 60 maic, published at your address.
- Tuesday evening: you launch a search for 25 potential customers in your area, with an e-mail drafted for each. 270 maic at most; a contact that cannot be verified is not charged.
- Wednesday evening: you review the drafted e-mails, edit them, pick the ones that go out. Nothing is sent without your review.
- After the first sale: the customer is added in the Town Hall (free) and the invoice goes out by e-mail (8 maic).
Every result is filed in the Library, your company's memory: next time it starts from what it already knows about your offer and your customers. That is what saves you from explaining everything again each evening.
What it costs, and why it stays predictable
The subscription is CHF 20 a month (≈ US$24 · €21), with 2,000 maic credited every month (1 maic = one cent). For a side project, what matters is avoiding bad surprises:
- the price of every action is shown first, and nothing is spent without your explicit approval;
- a quote is a ceiling: only what was used is charged, the rest goes back to your balance;
- the maic you do not spend in a month stay yours, with no time limit;
- the subscription can be cancelled at any time.
A domain in your name costs the registry price plus our margin, shown before you buy. At first you can do without one: your site lives on your subdomain name.myaicompany.io, included in the subscription. The details are in website, domain, e-mail and invoicing in one subscription.
What stays with you
MyAiCompany does not incorporate anything and handles no formality for you. A side business run in your own name follows the ordinary rules of your country, and following them is up to you.
For a business based in Switzerland, the Your obligations page summarises the main points; the one most often forgotten is registering with the cantonal social-insurance (AHV/AVS) office from your first self-employed income. Your company counts the invoices paid through it and warns you as you approach the Swiss VAT and commercial-register thresholds, but it only sees what goes through the platform. Outside Switzerland, the platform gives no information on local rules.
One more thing to check on your side: what your employment contract says about secondary activities. The platform cannot answer that for you.
And if the project grows?
Nothing needs to be rebuilt. You add a full mailbox, a domain, an online shop, the Swiss QR-bill; you top up maic when the month's 2,000 are not enough. And if you stop, you leave with your domain, your code and all your data, exportable in one click.
